On a search for a recording studio

I had a great trip into Old City Philadelphia yesterday to look at our first studio. The meeting was good because I could see the venue and ask lots of questions about what that studio has to offer. I was pleasantly surprised also to learn more things that will help me succeed in my process. I got some counsel on instrumentation, learned the studio would help supply musicians, and got an idea of the time length for completing the project.

I had a due date that I'd like the CD to be finished for November. That probably means that all recording needs to be completed by October, and sessions that late would hopefully just be me fixing or adding vocals. I'd like to get most of the tracks laid later this month and the beginning of August, since I go back to teaching in late August.

Overall, I found the meeting to be very informative and exciting. The more steps I take to make this CD a reality, the better I feel. I have more studios to visit next week and then I think we'll be able to hire one by the end of the week.
