Liz Seymour in Las Vegas 2008
Las Vegas… that neon-and-jumbo-screen-lit city of excitement, sounds, and shows.
Liz went there for three reasons: to shoot some video for one of the music videos for her upcoming CD, to spend time with her family, and to enjoy some time away from the stresses of "normal" life.
Teacher meetings at school begin on August 21, so squeezing in some vacation to fit everyone's schedule wasn't easy.
Mom did most of the planning - the Southwest plane trips, the trip to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon (more on that soon!), and a trip to see Cirque du Soleil's longest-running show, Mistere (which has run in Las Vegas for 15 years!).
OK… so we can't show you much video. And video doesn't do this show justice - you have to be there to experience the grandeur, the excitement, the heart-pounding thrills you feel when these masters of gymnastics perform their soaring feats of entertaining magic.
Much of it is high in the air - swinging, bouncing, sliding.
And some of it was in the audience "pre-show" just making us laugh.
It's loud, it's silly, it's beautiful, it's nearly indescribable. And it was a great inspiration for all the work we had to do later in the week.
Mystere - beautifully entertaining.
