Liz Seymour is now home from Vegas

I'm home and exhausted!

Las Vegas was a lot of fun. I really like being able to travel; there is so much of the US that I haven't seen and this was my first trip west of the Mississippi River!

The place we stayed was beautiful! There was a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. WOW. The vacation originated because I put a bid on a week's vacation at the YPTW (www.yptw.org) silent auction in honor of the organization's 30th year. All the money I spent on the hotel went to YPTW, thanks to the Thomas Family for donating it.

My family and I traveled all along "the strip" and visited tons of places! We went into about a dozen casinos, ate at French, Italian, and American burger joints, traveled to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, saw a Cirque du Soleil show (Mystere), and soaked up the sun.

I have never been anywhere so hot! The heat started to take a toll on us. It was 108 degrees on average (and reached 114!), but, as my sister would say, 'it is a dry heat.' When I heard this about Vegas, I wasn't quite sure what that meant. A dry heat means that there isn't much humidity and the heat can get stronger and it is more bearable. I really noticed the difference once I arrived home because it was only about 80 degrees in Philadelphia, and yet it felt worse due to humidity.

Now that I'm home, I have a lot to work on. I am starting back to teaching school this week, at the end of the month I'll start graduate school, I'll continue to do more prep work for the CD and some recording, and next month I'll open the show I'm currently working on, Seussical at The Players Club of Swarthmore (www.pcstheater.org).

There is so much to do!
